1. Shortlisted for THE Awards 2016

   LJMU has been shortlisted in three categories of the prestigious Times Higher Education Awards 2016.

2. School of Biological & Environmental Sciences accredited with Athena SWAN Bronze Award

   Biological and Environmental Sciences has become the fifth LJMU school to have received the Athena SWAN Bronze Award.

3. Thesis Boot Camp

   PGRs attended 2 day residential writing event, at Gladstone's Library in Wales.

4. Zois Award 2015

   A key member of the Liverpool Telescope Gamma-Ray Burst Team, Professor Andreja Gomboc at the University of Nova Gorica in Slovenia, has received the 2015 Zois Award for her study of Gamma Ray Bursts.

5. degree apprenticeships

   LJMU is set to expand its successful degree apprenticeship programmes after being awarded significant new funding. The university has received £1m from the Office for Students’ national fund to support level 6 degree apprenticeships.

6. Briefing sessions for professorship and readership conferment

   Colleagues who wish to apply to the LJMU professorship and readership conferment process for 2023/24 can now book a place on our briefing sessions.

   The Bicentennial Vice-Chancellor PhD scholarships are now open

8. UKRI open access monograph funding changes

   A reminder that UKRI has recently announced their guidance and requirements with regards to publishing open access monographs, which come into place from 1 January 2024.

9. Praise for policing student who goes above and beyond

   A first year policing student has gone above and beyond during her first week at LJMU by helping a total stranger on a night out.

10. Professorship and readership conferment process

    To provide as much planning time as possible we can confirm that the LJMU professorship and readership conferment process for 2023/24 will open from 27 November 2023.
