1. Disability History Month at LJMU

   Disability History Month begins today (16 November – 16 December) and our Disabled Staff Network, EDI team and JMSU will be hosting an event on Friday 2 December.

2. Demonstrating technology in action to stimulate ideas among SMEs

   Engineering and technology experts proved that ‘demonstration is key to stimulating ideas’ as they invited businesses from across Cheshire and Warrington onto campus to see research, simulation and innovation facilities.

3. New date for staff event raising awareness of domestic abuse support

   Staff are invited to an event on Wednesday 14 December from 10am to 11am at Exchange Station (Room 1 & 2), where they can find out more about how we're supporting those impacted by domestic abuse.

5. Events and support for disabled and neurodivergent students

   Disability History Month begins this week (16 November- 16 December) and LJMU has a range of events, careers advice sessions and support available for students.

6. Upcoming Professorial Inaugural Lecture Series

   The next series begins in November 2022 with Professor Trung Thanh Nguyen from LJMU’s School of Engineering.

7. New support for staff development

   The university will shortly be introducing a new system to support you in recording and tracking performance and development conversations.

8. Dance soiree to explore ‘Growing Old in the Soviet Union’

   Participants are invited to watch a 30-minute dance following the life trajectory of two Soviet citizens and then to give views about ageing and older people as part of an LJMU History and Wellcome Trust project.

9. Tyrannosaurus or Hadrosaur: How well can AI identify dinosaur footprints?

   Artificial intelligence comes out on top in machine v human challenge to identify fossil dinosaur tracks

10. Respect Always Coffee and Catch Ups this November

    Do you feel respected within LJMU? All staff are invited to Respect Always 'Coffee and Catch Ups' throughout November to tell us your thoughts. Refreshments will also be provided.
