   Home cameras and baby monitors are wide open to cyber-hackers, according to an expert at Liverpool John Moores University.

5. An afternoon with an astronaut

   Over 300 attendees from across Liverpool attended an ‘Afternoon with Helen Sharman ‘to listen to the inspiring story of what it was really like to become the first British astronaut in space.

6. New entrepreneur discovery competition

   LJMU is hosting the local heat of a new entrepreneur discovery competition, open to all University alumni and students. The Federation of Self-Employed and Small Businesses and FSB Connect are running the competition to give budding entrepreneurs a financial boost and raise their profile.

8. Discoveries of faint galaxies using supernovae

   Tom Sedgwick, PhD student at the Astrophysics Research Institute (ARI), part of LJMU,has with a team of ARI astronomers discovered 140 ‘new’galaxies, with findings due to be published in April’s edition of the prestigious journal Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society.

9. Pupils put art at the heart of STEM

   More than 150 primary school children from across the North West came to LJMU to take part in an innovative, hands-on experience, entitled ‘Art at the heart of STEM.’
