2. New study suggests explanations for usage of plesiosaurs’ long necks

   Plesiosaurs are an extinct group of marine reptiles from the age of dinosaurs who are famous for their long necks. The effect of such long necks on how these animals swam is a mystery but now computer simulations are helping LJMU scientists understand what would happen if a plesiosaur turned its head while swimming.

3. LJMU plays host to Help for Heroes community sport series weekend

   LJMU staff assisted Help for Heroes sport coaches and local sports teams to facilitate a range of inclusive and fully accessible sport sessions to a group being supported by the charity.

8. LJMU postgraduate Sport Psychology programme first of only three in country to gain BASES accreditation

   The School of Sport & Exercise Sciences at LJMU is one of only three universities to have its MSc Sport Psychology course accredited by professional body, the British Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences (BASES).

9. LJMU presented with gold award for support of the Armed Forces community

   The university was officially presented with the award at a ceremony at the city’s Liver Building.

10. New Reading List Management System Launched.

    In January 2015 Library Services piloted the use of a reading list management system, Rebus:List with 27 academics across the University with a soft launch that Summer.
