Business as usual for teaching and research
Local SMEs and entrepreneurs in the region will be at the forefront of creating a new generation of Internet of Things (IoT) enabled services and applications as Sensor City has been selected as one of six partners to drive a new initiative to boost the range of products and services that will transform the UK’s digital economy.

Students, staff, and local businesses from across LJMU were celebrated at the Unitemps Awards Ceremony held on Wednesday 8 May 2024. The event, hosted at the Student Life Building, honoured individuals for their contributions to work opportunities and collaboration with Unitemps.

LJMU received a £2m government grant to help SMEs, and has used the funding to partner with the Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC) to help transform regional industry through the use of a new Business Launch Centre (MTC@LJMU) based at LJMU’s Faculty of Engineering and Technology.
