4. Let’s Talk About Disability Workshop (Virtual) - Tips For Supporting Staff/Students With Disabilities & Long-Term Health Conditions Including Mental Health

   This is an opportunity for LJMU/JMSU Managers, Programme Leaders and Personal Tutors (those directly responsible for staff/students) to participate in a half day (three hour) virtual, Lets Talk About Disability Workshop in order to gain tips for supporting staff/students with disabilities & long-term health conditions including mental health.

5. LJMU chosen to deliver new policing degrees

   Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) is to offer a new generation of police officer training in partnership with Merseyside Police.

6. Major new study into impacts of COVID-19 on children

   A major study has been launched to learn more about the impact of COVID-19 on children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

7. New EDI Workshops Announced – Domestic Abuse Awareness & ‘Actions Speak Louder’ Allyship Training 

   LJMU's Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) Team are proud to be working in partnership with a number of subject specialists, to deliver a range of interactive (online) staff development training opportunities, including the introduction of two brand new courses; a 2 hour Domestic Abuse Awareness Workshop and a 90min 'Actions Speak Louder' Experiential Allyship (Race) training session, as well as the return of LJMU's 3 hour Transgender Awareness Workshop (back by popular demand).

8. Litter Picking: Mount Pleasant

   The Environmental Sustainability and Energy Team at LJMU are litter picking around campus, keeping our city and estate clean for our community.

10. MA Art in Science exhibition - 'The Speculative Herbarium'

    Despite a long history of preserving plants in herbariums, medicinal plants are often underrepresented in public-facing educational institutions such as museums. The Speculative Herbarium intertwines scientific practices used behind the scenes in herbaria with visual art and poetry, offering an insight into the important preservation work occurring in herbaria.
