1. Themes emerge from inaugural Liverpool Health Commission investigation

   Liverpool Health Commission, supported by LJMU, is currently midway through its inaugural investigation and is able to report a number of emerging themes.

2. School of Biological & Environmental Sciences accredited with Athena SWAN Bronze Award

   Biological and Environmental Sciences has become the fifth LJMU school to have received the Athena SWAN Bronze Award.

3. Improvement works at John Foster Building

   Next month (June 2022), we will begin a programme of improvement works to John Foster Building, which means it will be closed for a period over the summer.

4. Reciprocal Mentoring Programme involving BAME Staff, Black Students and Senior Leaders

   Given the success of last year's pilot, we are running the LJMU Reciprocal Mentoring Programme again and we are extending it to include BAME staff from across the institution. The programme is open to all LJMU Senior Staff from Director Level of non BAME Background and to BAME staff from non-Director Level and to Black Students from all Faculties.

5. Graduation review: Friday 12 July 2019

   As graduation week ended, the final graduands of July 2019 arrived at Liverpool Cathedral with their friends and families to receive their awards.

   It has been called the last men's club in journalism, but expect a much more female future for the UK's sport coverage.

   A group of student teachers are working with families seeking asylum in Liverpool to provide education sessions for children without a place at school.

8. The power of Staff Networks. Join and work with us to shape university policy

   Our staff networks have been integral in progressing certain policies for LJMU staff, including on maternity leave and menopause.

9. DaDaFest: The artistic flair to effect social change

   The HR team at Liverpool Business School are Project Evaluators for DaDaFest. Our role as project evaluators is to conduct a systematic assessment of the ongoing work at DaDaFest over three years. This role is a critical part of DaDaFest Paul Hamlyn award.
