2. Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson DBE

   Read the oration for Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson on the award of their Honorary Fellowship from Liverpool John Moores University presented by Professor Frank Sanderson.

3. Dr Avril Rowley

   Avril is a graduate of the university, she spent 20 years teaching in primary schools on Merseyside before joining LJMU in 2014 where she is now a senior lecturer within our School of Education, working with both undergraduate and postgraduate students on our primary education programmes. She combines her passion for the outdoors with teaching, and has become our lead on outdoor learning, developing a new approach called the Natural Curriculum, and establishing two Forest School sites.

4. Her Honour Judge Sarah Wright

   Sarah Wright is a Circuit Judge at Sheffield Combined Court and was one of 10 Bicentenary honorary fellows chosen to mark the university’s 200th anniversary in 2023. She is a graduate of Liverpool Polytechnic and has dedicated herself to the law and judicial system for more than 40 years.

5. Sir Dr Brian Harold May CBE

   Sir Brian May, legendary Queen guitarist and astrophysicist, was the fourth Chancellor of the university, a post in which he championed the student focussed approach that is core to LJMU’s vision and values.

6. Dr George Sharples

   In 2023, George was recognised for being LJMU’s longest serving member of staff, having worked at the university for some 51 years. He is a Reader in Pharmacy and Biomolecular Sciences and joined LJMU in 1972.

8. The Hon Mr Justice Globe

   Read the oration for The Hon Mr Justice Globe on the award of their Honorary Fellowship from Liverpool John Moores University presented by His Honour David Lynch.

9. Victory Onephrojire

   International student Victory followed in her sisters' footsteps to leave Nigeria and to study in the UK. Choosing Liverpool as it was a vibrant and buzzing city, she has not only settled into life in the UK but also helped other fellow international students to do the same, by acting as a student mentor while undertaking master’s study in business and management.
