1. Deadline for home computing loan scheme

   Our current Home Computing Loan scheme for staff will come to a close in December, ahead of the launch of a brand new scheme in the new year.

2. Complete the privacy and security survey by 12 December

   To better understand how much we all know about data protection matters, a short staff survey has been put together.

3. Is this the world's oldest oven?

   Archaeologists have unearthed baked bread and food remains from 70,000 years ago in Shanidar Cave in Iraq and published the study of early culinary skills in the journal Antiquity.

4. New date for staff event raising awareness of domestic abuse support

   Staff are invited to an event on Wednesday 14 December from 10am to 11am at Exchange Station (Room 1 & 2), where they can find out more about how we're supporting those impacted by domestic abuse.

5. Upcoming Professorial Inaugural Lecture Series

   The next series begins in November 2022 with Professor Trung Thanh Nguyen from LJMU’s School of Engineering.

6. Dance soiree to explore ‘Growing Old in the Soviet Union’

   Participants are invited to watch a 30-minute dance following the life trajectory of two Soviet citizens and then to give views about ageing and older people as part of an LJMU History and Wellcome Trust project.

7. Graduation dates announced for March 2023

   Our next graduation ceremonies are now scheduled to take place between Monday 27 – Wednesday 29 March 2023

8. Professorship, readership

   The Professorship and Readership Conferment process for 2023 is now open.

9. Psychology student Charlotte and her Discovery Internship experience

   Discovery Internships are open for applications now until 4 December for second and final year students. Psychology student Charlotte Ilderton explains why she applied to complete an internship alongside her studies at LJMU and how you can too.

10. Respect Always Coffee and Catch Ups this November
