1. LJMU experts help create new Science + Discovery attraction

   BETTER LIVING advice from LJMU experts is a key theme at Eureka Merseysides new Science + Discovery visitor attraction.

2. Reciprocal Mentoring Programme involving BAME Staff, Black Students and Senior Leaders

   Given the success of last year's pilot, we are running the LJMU Reciprocal Mentoring Programme again and we are extending it to include BAME staff from across the institution. The programme is open to all LJMU Senior Staff from Director Level of non BAME Background and to BAME staff from non-Director Level and to Black Students from all Faculties.

3. LJMU to run UK's only degree on climate change

   LIVERPOOL has achieved a climate first by launching the UKs first degree in climate change studies.

4. Schoolgirl researchers visit world-class sport science labs

   The year 9 pupils from Liverpool's Holly Lodge Girls College spent two days working alongside world-class scientists in physiology, biomechanics and sport and exercise psychology, as well as current LJMU students, to gain expert insight into sport science research methodology.

5. New corporate charities

   We are delighted to announce our two new Corporate Charities - Claire House Children's Hospice and The Girls Network.

6. Registration open for conference on decolonial approaches to teaching and research

   A mini-conference highlighting developments in decolonial approaches to teaching and research across the university featuring three sessions of talks and discussion on decolonising pedagogy, assessment and research methods, will take place in November.

7. Taking Shaun the Sheep to China

   Aardman Animations is teaming up with creative technology experts in Liverpool to develop research for an immersive Shaun the Sheep experience in China.

8. Another successful year for the online summer course “Sustainability and Employability”

   Over 60 students successfully completed the online summer course Sustainability and Employability: Understanding Sustainability Issues and Getting Ready for the Job Market.

9. New social media policy

   The university has launched its new social media policy to help staff get the most out of their communications and to stay safe.
