6. Ice Age bone samples reveal DNA links between wolves and dogs

   An international group of geneticists and archaeologists have analysed bones samples, some provided by LJMU, that reveal the ancestry of dogs can be traced to at least two populations of ancient wolves.

7. Whitechapel Christmas Appeal shows caring side of LJMU

   Thanks to the generosity of staff and students for the 2017 Whitechapel/LJMU Christmas Appeal, the University collected nearly 100 boxes of donations for homeless people and families in Liverpool.

8. Giveaways, discounts and cost of living support

   LJMU and JMSU have a range of support available if you are struggling with covering basic expenses such as food, housing and bills. Plus there's an array of discounts and giveaways across campus.

9. Schoolchildren train with sport scientists through LFC Foundation partnership

   The School of Sport and Exercise Sciences welcomed 10 young people from the LFC Foundation to its Performance Sport Unit during the Easter holidays to learn more about the science behind football.
