1. Research project into slavery

   LJMU is offering an opportunity to collaborate on a research project to examine the university’s historical associations with slavery.

   Professor Lol Burke from LJMU’s School of Justice Studies has shared his insights into probation and rehabilitation at a prestigious lecture at the University of Cambridge.

3. Briefing sessions for professorship and readership conferment

   Colleagues who wish to apply to the LJMU professorship and readership conferment process for 2023/24 can now book a place on our briefing sessions.

4. LJMU relations with Nepal strengthened after researchers meet with President

   Researchers from LJMU have met with the President of Nepal, the Right honourable Bidhya Devi Bhandari, to discuss issues relating to education, gender, women's rights and social justice. Dr Sara Parker from Sociology, School of Humanities and Social Science and Rose Khatri from the Centre for Public Health recently met with the President and spoke for almost two hours.

5. LJMU Library launches new reading corner

   LJMU Library has developed a new children's reading corner, providing access to a collection of children's books. This new space provides a fun and relaxed reading area for use by students, staff, local teachers and school children.

6. LJMU partners with L8 community celebration

   On Saturday 25 June, staff and students from LJMU will join hundreds of people at Firefit Community Hub (115 Upper Warwick Street, L8 8HD) in Toxteth for a community fair and celebration of everyone and everything that makes L8 so unique.

   2023 is a big year for Liverpool John Moores University. Not only is it our bicentenary marking 200 years since the institution was founded and became the LJMU as we know it today, there’s also so much going on across the city over the coming months.
