1. In memoriam: John Windle

   We are saddened to learn of the death of our former colleague, John Windle.

2. Student Information System Upgrade

   The University’s Student Information System (SIS) is being upgraded. SIS will be unavailable during the upgrade, from 5pm on Thursday 21st November until 8am on Tuesday 26th November.

   LJMU is set to strengthen its reputation for promoting sport-for-all and physical activity in its communities.

4. Formula Student road to Silverstone explored in new 1823 Podcast

   In a special edition of the LJMU 1823 Podcast: The road to Silverstone, Dr Christian Matthews is joined by LJMU e-Racing Head of Team 2022, MSc student Cameron Reedy, and former Head of Team, Rhian Griffith, who now works as a mechanical engineer at the Small Robot Company.

5. LJMU ranked one of the top 10 best UK universities in StudentCrowd Awards 2022

   Based on online reviews over the past two years, LJMU is ranked as the 6th best UK university according to the StudentCrowd awards 2022.

6. Equality, diversity and inclusion in journalism teaching conference

   The journalism department is holding a free one-day conference on EDI in Journalism education on June 26th. Although the conference is geared towards Journalism education, the conference is open to educators from other subject areas who will be welcome to share their research and best practice as well as benefit from transferable, practical ideas around embedding EDI in teaching, learning and assessment and creating an inclusive environment for students.

7. Make Do and Mend Workshop

   Come along to our make do and mend workshop where you can learn how to do basic repairs to your clothing.

8. ARI Seminar, Andrew Mummery (Oxford)

   In our seminar series, renowned astrophysicists present results from their recent research.

9. Faculty of Engineering and Technology Graduate and Placement Recruitment Fair

   The Graduate and Placement Recruitment Fair takes place on Thursday 10 October 2024, featuring 70+ employers from across all courses and disciplines in the Faculty of Engineering and Technology.

10. Bike Maintenance (Brakes and Gears) Class

    The Environmental Sustainability and Energy Team at LJMU are holding a number of cycling based activities and events throughout the year.
