   The LJMU Library website has had a major refresh over summer and has launched this week ready for the new academic year.

   Two of our health and safety codes of practice and have updated and can be accessed on the Policy Centre.

   More than 150 primary school children from across the North West came to LJMU to take part in an innovative, hands-on experience, entitled ‘Art at the heart of STEM.’

7. Chief Constable delivers Spring Lecture at LJMU

   Chief Constable Craig Guildford of West Midlands Police delivered his spring lecture at LJMU last week. The lecture titled Turning the Tanker: Reflections on 18 Months as Chief Constable of West Midlands Police was held in the Redmonds Building and saw Chief Constable Guildford share his strategic initiatives, and thoughts on the importance of community engagement, and the future direction of the force.

8. LJMU to benefit from £1million ’Big Data’ training centre

   LLJMU and the University of Liverpool and have been awarded £1m for a new Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) in data intensive science.

9. LJMU awarded £44,000 to promote chemistry to school pupils in hard to reach areas

   LJMU has been awarded £44,000 to expand an innovative chemistry outreach scheme to encourage young people from 11 schools across deprived areas of Liverpool City Region, to become the scientists of the future.

10. Pupils take part in Great Debate heat at LJMU

    LJMU hosted a heat of the Historical Association’s Great Debate 2024 public speaking competition, welcoming four schools on to campus.
