1. Submissions for the Green Gown Awards

   The university is looking for potential submissions for the Green Gown Awards, which recognise exceptional sustainability initiatives being undertaken by universities and colleges.

2. March is Library Fest

   Library Services are gearing up for an exciting lineup of events this March as part of Library Fest 2024. There’ll be a range of exciting activities taking place from book swaps to poetry readings, exhibitions, and giveaways for all students, staff and visitors to get involved in.

3. Student Spotlight: Abbie Romano

   The representations of women in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) roles is improving, but there’s work to be done. As of 2018, WISE Campaign (Women into Science and Engineering) announced that the UK is on track to have one million women working in the field by 2020. These statistics are encouraging, and demonstrate an improvement in opportunities shown to young women who pursue the career path.

4. Estranged Students Solidarity Week

   Monday 25th - Friday 29th November is Estranged Students Solidarity Week, a national campaign to raise awareness of the issues affecting students who are studying in higher education without the support of a family network.

5. LJMU marks Remembrance 2023

   Students and staff have marked Remembrance 2023 by supporting the RBL Poppy Appeal, taking part in acts of Remembrance, and showcasing research.

6. LJMU Chancellor welcomes scholars, Honorary Fellows and alumni to third Middle Temple celebration

   Over 110 LJMU Scholars, Honorary fellows and alumni came together at a special event in London’s historic Middle Temple last night, hosted by LJMU Chancellor and Honorary Fellow, Sir Brian Leveson.

7. Praise for LJMU’s support of care leavers from Minister for Higher and Further Education

   LJMU deserves the highest praise for their success according to the Minister for Higher and Further Education, after it was the first of only four institutions to be awarded the National Network for the Education of Care Leavers (NNECL) Quality Mark.
