4. Sport performance experts at LJMU support former pro footballers

   LJMU is a key regional operator in a nationwide PFA initiative, aimed at managing ex-players’ physical and mental transition away from full-time football.

5. Long-serving staff celebrate their LJMU careers

   Over 100 staff, with more than 25 years’ service each, were invited to enjoy a special afternoon tea.

6. New LJMU Library ‘Every Voice Collection’ available for all students and staff

   The LJMU Library 'Every Voice: Diversity, Equality, Inclusion Collection' has over 8000 titles that champion different voices.

7. Christmas closure and support services over the festive break

   The university will close at 5pm on Thursday 23 December and reopen at 9am on Tuesday 4 January. The Student Life Building will be open 24/7 throughout the festive break including on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Day.

8. International Women's Day - Tuesday 8 March

   This year's International Women's Day theme is #BreakTheBias and Ambar Ennis, VP Community and Wellbeing at JMSU and Julia Daer, EDI Advisor discuss what this means to them.

9. Launch of Men's Staff Network

   The Men’s Staff Network will provide a space for colleagues to celebrate the positive contributions and achievements of men; raise awareness of the issues affecting men and boys and the associated impacts on wider society and offer opportunities for formal and informal networking and mentoring.

10. Work under way to transform Byrom Street

    The university has begun work on a series of major projects to continue the transformation of our Byrom Street site for the benefit of students and staff.
