1. Stay safe this winter

   The winter break starts this week and we hope you all to have an enjoyable and safe break.

2. Grad Fest 2019 – event for final year students on 3 April

   Grad Fest 2019 is a new event for final year students at LJMU, taking place on 3 April from 2pm-7pm at the John Lennon Art and Design Building.

3. All You Need is GaP

   Just a reminder that all externally funded projects must be both registered (a GaP project created) and costed on our Grants and Projects (GaP) system from 1st July 2020.

4. Data protection related policy updates

   Four data protection related policies have been updated and can now be found on the LJMU Policy Centre.

5. Restrictions on using USBs for students and staff

   From 4 September students will be no longer able to use USB storage devices on LJMU equipment. This is alongside the restrictions already in place for staff.

6. Critically Thinking About Race, Religion and Belief/Non Belief

   LJMU invited speakers from different backgrounds to discuss their views on the issues that are still apparent in today’s society. The conference, Critically Thinking About Race, Religion and Belief/Non Belief was presented to a packed lecture theatre of academics, students and professionals.

   Astrophysics Research Institute works with European Southern Observatory to observe first light from gravitational wave source.

9. Extra Security is coming – Get Ready!

   LJMU will soon be bringing in additional security to protect everyone’s data, with the introduction of Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) to some online services.

10. LJMU shortlisted for 'University of the Year' 2017 by Times Higher

    Liverpool John Moores University is one of six across the UK to be shortlisted in the most prestigious category by the Times Higher.
