   New agreement to implement Canvas institutional virtual learning environment (iVLE) in 2017.

2. Recognition of Prior Experiential Learning Policy update

   The Recognition of Prior Experiential Learning Policy (RPEL) has been updated to incorporate requirements for RPEL assessment for Apprenticeship programmes, and to reflect changes to governance related to RPEL.

3. North West Higher Education Action Learning Programme

   LJMU are offering up to ten places for women working in academic and professional services roles to take part in cross institutional action learning sets with peers from universities in the North West region.

4. Teaching and Learning Excellence award winners honoured at ceremony

   The winners of this year’s Teaching and Learning Excellence Awards 2023 (TLAs) received their awards at an event held in the Tithebarn Building.

5. Exciting development opportunity for women to undertake action learning with peers from North West universities

   We are pleased to offer this development opportunity for up to 15 women working in academic and professional services roles to take part in cross institutional action learning sets with peers from universities in the North West region. Action learning provides a unique space for women to support each other to overcome work and career related challenges. This opportunity has been taken up previously by 150 women. Participant feedback includes: it was not role specific, so there were a range of individuals with different roles/skills/perspective which enriched my experience and It provided a rare opportunity to discuss issues confidentially outside of ones own workplace which helped me to develop more self-confidence and self-awareness.

6. New Teaching and Learning Academy policies

   Two new policies will support teaching staff in their development through peer exchange and direct observation.

8. LJMU rated highly in Teaching Excellence Framework

   LJMU has been awarded a gold rating for student outcomes and silver overall in the national Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF).

9. AVIT group developing a positive AV experience across campus

   Did you know that LJMU has a dedicated Learning Environment Panel and an Audio Visual and Information Technology (AVIT) group whose combined remit is to improve the quality of teaching space across campus?
