1. Update on university coronavirus recovery plans

   We are working to reassure everyone at LJMU about the measures we are putting in place to protect all of our staff and students.

2. Postgraduate Taught Experience Survey

   LJMU has opened the national Postgraduate Taught Experience Survey (PTES) for level 7 students.

3. Dinosaur footprint expert to feature in Channel 5 series fronted by Stephen Fry

   Dinosaurs with Stephen Fry, airing from Sunday 12 February on Channel 5, will feature expert analysis from LJMU’s Dr Peter Falkingham. He will explain how birds are modern descendants of dinosaurs by looking at the motion of ostriches compared to the T. rex.

5. Staff dental plan

   An opt-in period is now open for a staff dental plan.

6. In memoriam: Dr Malcolm Dixon

   It is with great sadness that LJMU announces the passing of Dr Malcolm Dixon who worked here for 30 years, until his retirement in 2015.

7. Designs for inclusion: enhancing doctoral education programme

   Staff can sign-up for the programme delivered across two afternoons, 1pm to 4.30pm on Thursday 9 November and Wednesday 22 November.

8. Call for submissions: Teaching and Learning Conference 2020

   This year's conference will take place on Thursday 11 and Friday 12 June and submissions are now invited from staff and students and collaborative partner institutions, as well as other colleagues working in post-16 education.

9. Third generation of family graduates from LJMU

   Kezia attended her graduation, with her dad and grandma, at Liverpool Cathedral this week as she received her Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE), making her the third generation of her family to graduate from the university.

10. Undergraduate teacher training at LJMU comes top in the North West

    LJMU has been placed 5th best in the country and top in the North West for Undergraduate Initial Teacher Training (ITT) provision in the latest edition of the Good Teacher Training Guide.
