1. New university report cover sheet and guidance

   The Secretariat shares with you the latest update which came into force on Monday 4 December 2023, with immediate effect.

2. Staff Governor vacancy

   The Secretariat is now seeking expressions of interest from eligible candidates to represent Professional Services as a Staff Governor member of the Board of Governors.

3. People with a passion for higher education needed for LJMU governor roles

   LJMU is currently recruiting for three vacancies on its Board of Governors.

4. Health, safety and environmental management code of practice updates

   The Executive Leadership Team (ELT) has recently approved a new health and safety code of practice as well as amendments to a further 11 policies.

5. Academic Board election voting now open

   Staff have until 5pm on Thursday 14 September to vote for their preferred Academic Board candidates.

6. Your new Academic Staff Governor Caroline Wilkinson

   Following a fortnight-long election period, Caroline received the majority of votes out of the eight self-nominated candidates and will now serve on the Board for the next three years.

7. Apprenticeships and Student Governance policy updates

   The new Apprenticeships Policy has received Academic Board approval and 20 Student Governance policies, guidance and pro forma have recently been reviewed, and have received minor amendments.

8. Academic Board vacancies

   The Secretariat is now taking expressions of interests from eligible candidates for two vacancies on the Academic Board, a Directorate and a Professoriate member.

9. Prestigious civil engineering title for Dr Ana Bras

   Dr Ana Bras has been named as a policy fellow within the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE), the UK’s leading source of expertise in civil engineering.
