1. Academic Board election results 2023

   A host of representatives from our faculties, along with professional services, have been elected to the Academic Board following a series of elections that took place over the past fortnight.

2. Academic Registry Roadshows

   Informal one-hour breakfast sessions open to all academic staff who want to learn more about the support available to them from Academic Registry.

3. New support for staff development

   The university will shortly be introducing a new system to support you in recording and tracking performance and development conversations.

4. Wellbeing journals: order copies for your new students

   Copies of the new wellbeing journal are now available and staff are encouraged to order copies for their students.

5. In memoriam: His Honour Dr David Lynch

   LJMU is deeply saddened by the death of His Honour Dr David Lynch who had been a part of the fabric of the university and School of Law for over 50 years.

6. LJMU residential for young people

   LJMU Outreach has welcomed young people from 12 schools across the north west region to its annual Year 10 Residential, targeted specifically at those in local authority or residential care.

7. Students at the Heart Conference 2024: submissions now open

   Submissions are now open for the Students at the Heart Conference and the theme for 2024 will be ‘community.’

8. Paid Discovery Internships for L5 and L6 students

   Internship applications open on Monday 16 September - sign up with Unitemps to be ready to apply

9. LJMU undertake unique study which will inform early years education

   Scientists at LJMU are to undertake a pioneering study on children's early number skills which will inform the way young children learn. Read the news story.

10. Restrictions on using USBs for students and staff

    From 4 September students will be no longer able to use USB storage devices on LJMU equipment. This is alongside the restrictions already in place for staff.
