1. Research exploring music and social transformation in sacred spaces reaches new crescendo

   Since 2020 Professor Simone Krüger Bridge has partnered with Liverpool Cathedral to study the impact of its music outreach initiatives.

   Participants are invited to watch a 30-minute dance following the life trajectory of two Soviet citizens and then to give views about ageing and older people as part of an LJMU History and Wellcome Trust project.

   Third year Adult Nursing student, John Wells, has picked up the ‘Most Inspirational Student Nurse of the Year’ award at the Student Nursing Times Awards 2023.

6. Chimpanzees copy gestures to get by in a complex social world

   Researchers have found that wild chimpanzees may copy each other’s gestures to maintain their complex social relationships.

7. Discovery Internships for level 5 and 6 students open for applications

   The second round of paid Discovery Internships this semester are open until midnight on Sunday 17 December 2023. Interviews will take place before the end of January 2024 and the internships will begin from early February 2024 (start dates may vary for each role).
