1. LJMU e-Racing Team Launch Evening a success

   It was great to see plenty of supporters at the LJMU e-Racing Team’s launch evening earlier this month when the team announced some big changes for the 2017-2018 season.

2. New human evolution gallery at the World Museum Liverpool opened with a bang!

   Discover the intertwined history of our species. A new free gallery officially opened at the World Museum Liverpool on 6th September 2019. The opening was marked by a family event: Human Evolution Festival, but the gallery is now open to the public and an activity trail will be available soon. Where do we come from? What makes us human? These fundamental mysteries have shaped the study of human origins for centuries. Trace our species’ evolution from the first upright primate through to modern humans.

3. How did the absence of fans affect the Premier League?

   As the dust settles on the 2020/21 English Premier League season, Dr Gillian Cook and Dr Francesca Champ from LJMU's School of Sport and Exercise Sciences, examine how the absence of fans affected the campaign.

4. Ethnically diverse and Ethnic minority to substitute the BAME Acronym across LJMU

   Following a university wide survey and subsequent focus groups, ethnically diverse or ethnic minority are to replace the use of BAME across the university.

5. International Scholarships awarded to 16 students

   16 students were presented with their international scholarships this week at a reception in the Student Life Building.

   Students can sign up for Freshers 22 activities or staff can make a group booking for their programme.

7. Give out Wellbeing Journals to all your students in your Personal Tutor meetings

   Copies of the new 2022-23 Wellbeing Journal are now available for all students, and academic staff are being encouraged to hand them out at their first personal tutor meetings with students.

8. Inspirational student reaches £150,000 target to repay his life-saving bone marrow transplant

   Andrew Davies, who is in his second year studying a Sport and Exercise Science degree, has completed his mission to raise £150,000 to pay back the hospital which saved his life six years ago.

9. LJMU is offering students access to IT services off campus like never before

   Do you prefer to study out of hours? Is there a pressing lab report that you need access to? No problem! LJMU is providing students with 24/7 access to IT services off campus. That means you can access Office 365 from your own device and download other software onto your own laptop/computer as well as accessing lab computers.
