2. Apprenticeships and Student Governance policy updates

   The new Apprenticeships Policy has received Academic Board approval and 20 Student Governance policies, guidance and pro forma have recently been reviewed, and have received minor amendments.

3. LJMU joins Higher Education, Transnational Education (TNE) mission to Vietnam and Cambodia

   During the mission, LJMU were able to showcase their University offerings, meet with the UK Ambassador to Vietnam, Gareth Ward, and hold business to business meetings to ignite discussions surrounding the development of transnational education opportunities.

4. Diwali 2019 starts on Sunday 27th October and lasts for five days

   Diwali is the famous festival of lights, when families and friends get together to feast and celebrate. The five day festival begins on Sunday 27th October 2019; each day has its own individual meaning and associated celebration. The third day of Diwali is regarded as the most important day. Diwali literally means a ‘row of Lights’. It is a celebration of light! It is a time filled with light and love. The festival does not follow the Gregorian but rather the Hindu calendar known as ‘Tithi,’ which is a lunar calendar. We would like to wish all our students and staff community who celebrate this festival a very happy Diwali!

5. Extra Security is coming – Get Ready!

   LJMU will soon be bringing in additional security to protect everyone’s data, with the introduction of Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) to some online services.

6. Media students' climb to the top

   Three Liverpool Screen School students have won £2,000 in a competition run by leading motoring magazine, Influx Magazine.

   Hate Crime Awareness Week is an important time to remind ourselves what constitutes a hate crime and what support is available both on and off campus.

   LJMU sport and gym memberships have decreased for the remainder of 2025 with discounted prices from £20 for students and £35 for staff and alumni.
