1. The way to book catering internally is changing

   To help improve the catering hospitality service for staff, things are changing in the new academic year.

2. Celebrating Cultures Event

   The celebrating cultures event this year had India, China, Canada, Pakistan, Colombia, Nepal, England, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Lesotho, Scotland, Vietnam, Nigeria, Indonesia, Greece, Italy, Bangladesh, Switzerland, Iran, Somalia and Brazil being represented. Following this event, an international student wrote a reflection on their experience in participating.

3. Updating Your Microsoft Profile Picture

   From Monday 12th September, ITS will begin publishing all staff and student security card photos into Microsoft's 365 suite of products.

4. Extra Security is coming – Get Ready!

   LJMU will soon be bringing in additional security to protect everyone’s data, with the introduction of Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) to some online services.

5. New website course search function

   This week marks the launch of an exciting new development to our website. A project group have been working with an external agency (Sagittarius) to improve the course search function.

6. LJMU supporting local people in need

   LJMU has donated £13,000 to a local charity to support people across Liverpool who need emergency food parcels.

7. Changes to Harvard LJMU Referencing

   From the start of the 2024/25 academic year the institutional style for Harvard referencing is changing from Harvard LJMU to Harvard Cite Them Right.

8. Open Data Week 2024 new sessions added

   Join a week of online events and workshops from Monday 21 to Friday 25 October.

9. Part-time Jobs Fair: Tuesday 24 September

   Meet local employers looking to hire you for roles you can fit around your studies.

10. More than 120 local school pupils take part in LJMU Summer University

    Over the past month, more than 120 14- to 17-year-olds from across the UK have taken part in LJMU summer schools to inspire students from underrepresented backgrounds to consider higher education.
