6. Admissions Policy update

   The LJMU Admissions Policy has recently undergone some minor amendments and the updated version can be found in the Policy Centre.

7. Gravitational wave science used to search for catastrophic explosion

   Researchers at the Astrophysics Research Institute were among the first to use new gravitational wave science, ahead of the recent announcement by the Laser Interferometer Gravitational Wave Observatory (LIGO) that they had made the first direct detection of gravitational waves.

   We talk to Dr Robert Hesketh from the School of Justice Studies about his research into drug dealing as a substitute for employment in Merseyside street gangs.

9. Happy Diwali!

   Diwali is an annual five-day festival of lights celebrated during the Hindu month of Kartika. In the spirit of celebration, let us all get involved with the brilliant array of events occurring during this period in Liverpool, in neighbouring cities and even virtually. Happy Diwali everyone!
