   As part of our LJMU Equality’s ‘Getting it Right’ campaign, the team is highlighting the importance of pronouncing the names of different students and staff right.

9. Diwali 2019 starts on Sunday 27th October and lasts for five days

   Diwali is the famous festival of lights, when families and friends get together to feast and celebrate. The five day festival begins on Sunday 27th October 2019; each day has its own individual meaning and associated celebration. The third day of Diwali is regarded as the most important day. Diwali literally means a ‘row of Lights’. It is a celebration of light! It is a time filled with light and love. The festival does not follow the Gregorian but rather the Hindu calendar known as ‘Tithi,’ which is a lunar calendar. We would like to wish all our students and staff community who celebrate this festival a very happy Diwali!

10. Students raise money for sick children by completing NSS

    Final year undergraduate students have raised over £5,000 in just two weeks for Claire House Children’s Hospice by completing the National Student Survey.
