7. Go ahead for new treatment for Black Bone Disease

   A new drug to treat the ultra-rare genetic disease alkaptonuria (AKU) has been given the go-ahead following research in Liverpool.

8. LJMU launches Sustainable Development Goals hub

   LJMU is outlining its commitment to the United Nations 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through a microsite which highlights the research and knowledge exchange, student experience and place and partnership activities, that showcase the university’s ongoing journey towards a more sustainable, prosperous future for local communities and the whole planet.

9. Alumnus wins coveted poetry prize

   We’re thrilled to learn that one of our Creative Writing graduates, Callan Waldron-Hall, was recently recognised for his outstanding writing at the Poetry Business New Poets Prize.

    Second Year Sport Business student, Rio Boothe, is partnering with charities in the North West to raise awareness around the barriers surrounding disabilities and para sport.
