   The Institute of Art and Technology focuses on the following themes: contemporary art, 3D digital art, the uses of art, exhibitions and curatorship, as well as design discourse and practice.

5. Sir Dr Brian Harold May CBE

   Sir Brian May, legendary Queen guitarist and astrophysicist, was the fourth Chancellor of the university, a post in which he championed the student focussed approach that is core to LJMU’s vision and values.

6. Jamie Carragher

   Read the oration for Jamie Carragher on the award of their Honorary Fellowship from Liverpool John Moores University presented by Professor Roger Webster.

7. Sir Bert Massie CBE DL (1949 – 2017)

   Bert was a famous disability rights campaigner, himself a wheelchair user, dedicating his life to advocating for improvements to the daily life of those with disabilities. He was also an alumnus of the Liverpool Polytechnic, later becoming an Honorary Fellow and serving as a governor, while working closely with the university on its equality and diversity policies.

8. John Moores Jr CBE, DL (1928-2012)

   The second Chancellor of LJMU, serving for five years from 1994 to 1999, and the son of Sir John Moores who the university is proudly named in honour of.

9. School of Pharmacy and Biomolecular Sciences facilities

   Pharmacy and biomolecular scientists use state-of-the-art facilities in the Life Sciences Building which is equipped for drug dispensing, scene of crime forensic studies, DNA analysis, spectroscopic studies, and much more.

10. Liverpool Immersive Experience Lab

    Based within LJMU’s Faculty of Engineering and Technology, LIVE Lab provides cutting-edge facilities for the development and delivery of usability research through immersive, virtual, mixed and augmented reality technologies.
