3. Exciting development opportunity for women to undertake action learning with peers from North West universities

   We are pleased to offer this development opportunity for up to 15 women working in academic and professional services roles to take part in cross institutional action learning sets with peers from universities in the North West region. Action learning provides a unique space for women to support each other to overcome work and career related challenges. This opportunity has been taken up previously by 150 women. Participant feedback includes: it was not role specific, so there were a range of individuals with different roles/skills/perspective which enriched my experience and It provided a rare opportunity to discuss issues confidentially outside of ones own workplace which helped me to develop more self-confidence and self-awareness.

4. LJMU funds 100 interns for local business

   KEY roles in Liverpool businesses are being filled by LJMU undergraduates under a new employability scheme.

7. Student Information System Upgrade

   The University’s Student Information System (SIS) is being upgraded. SIS will be unavailable during the upgrade, from 5pm on Thursday 21st November until 8am on Tuesday 26th November.

   POACHERS who disguise rare animal remains in a multi-billion dollar trade are a step closer to being caught out, according to scientists in Liverpool, UK.

10. Megalith tombs were family graves in European Stone Age

    In a new study published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences USA, an international research team, led by Uppsala University with co-author Linus Girdland-Flink of LJMU, discovered kin relationships among Stone Age individuals buried in megalithic tombs on Ireland and in Sweden.
