   Women still earn around £8,000 less than men in the Liverpool City Region, a new report has identified.

5. Banging the drum for heavy rock and metal music on Merseyside

   LJMU academic Dr Nedim Hassan is taking centre stage in a collaborative project that aims to support and develop the heavy metal and hard rock music scene within the Liverpool City Region.

6. School of Humanities and Social Sciences create Craft Club for student wellbeing

   The department of Media, Culture, Communication in the School of Humanities and Social Sciences has established a new initiative to create space for students to socialise and support their wellbeing.

   This Pension Awareness Week (11-15 September) access free, impartial, and straightforward pension information, as well as a series of live sessions.

8. Support for transgender and non-binary students

   We now have dedicated information on our student support webpages, for transgender and non-binary students, to find out how to get help and support while at university, as well as requesting a name change via LJMU.

9. Staff networks explored, explained and celebrated

   Staff recently came together to celebrate the power of staff networks in the workplace and to mark the launch of the Admin and PA Staff Network.

10. Register for the Students at the Heart Conference 2024

    Staff and students can now register to attend the conference, with various workshops and sessions taking place across the two days, in the Redmonds and Student Life buildings, on LJMU campus.
