1. The University Funded Diversity and Inclusion Scheme research initiatives announced

   After consideration of all applications to the University Funded Diversity and Inclusion Scheme, the projects to receive funding have been announced.

2. Ice Age bone samples reveal DNA links between wolves and dogs

   An international group of geneticists and archaeologists have analysed bones samples, some provided by LJMU, that reveal the ancestry of dogs can be traced to at least two populations of ancient wolves.

3. Public Health Institute and Drama students create educational film on gang-related violence

   LJMU Drama students have joined forces with LJMUs Public Health Institute to create an educational film helping NHS staff deal with the consequences of gang-related violence in hospitals.

4. Poignant and unique artistic record of LJMU's Bicentenary year goes on display

   Julia Midgley: Bicentenary Sketchbook - A Window on LJMU's 200th Anniversary Year is now on display for an extended run until Friday 5 April, at LJMU’s John Lennon Art and Design Building.

5. Updated Assessment and Feedback Policy

   The policy has been updated with two new areas of activity on internal moderation and the use of generative AI (GenAI) in assessment.

6. Enhancing the student experience through improved assessment and feedback guidance

   A project group has updated our Assessment and Feedback Policy as well as launched a new mini site of guidance for staff to utilise.

7. Changes to the Leadership and Development Foundation

   The Leadership and Development Foundation is undergoing some changes to better support all staff development across the whole of LJMU.

8. Paid Discovery Internships for level 5 and 6 students

   The final round of Discovery Internships for this academic year is open for applications from second (level 5) and final year (level 6) students.

9. New and updated diversity and inclusion policies

   The Employment Committee has recently approved a new diversity and inclusion policy and guidance document, as well as amendments to an existing policy.

10. Health and Safety policy updates

    A number of Health and Safety policies have been amended and approved by the Health and Safety Committee.
