In partnership with the other universities in the city, LJMU has embarked on a number of initiatives to work with local residents.

4. MA Short Film Festival 2023 returns 24 to 31 March

   The festival returns for its third edition, featuring 42 films from across the globe that showcase the work of the best and brightest emerging student filmmakers.

5. Postgraduate Taught Experience Survey

   LJMU has opened the national Postgraduate Taught Experience Survey (PTES) for level 7 students.

6. Joint staff and student project wins digital privacy award

   LJMU has won an award at the PICCASO Privacy Awards Europe 2023 for a Privacy and Digital Security project created by staff and students.

7. Humanities PhD student awarded for outstanding paper

   Sean Creaney, a lecturer in Childhood and Youth Studies at Stockport College, who is currently studying for his PhD in the School of Humanities and Social Science, has just been awarded ‘Outstanding Paper’ in the 2015 Emerald Literati Network Awards for Excellence

8. Staff and students welcome changes to Highway Code that promote active travel

   Staff and students at LJMU have welcomed changes to the Highway Code that restructure the road hierarchy and prioritise walking and cycling.

9. Registration open for conference on decolonial approaches to teaching and research

   A mini-conference highlighting developments in decolonial approaches to teaching and research across the university featuring three sessions of talks and discussion on decolonising pedagogy, assessment and research methods, will take place in November.
