1. Connections over Croissants

   Research and Innovation Services (RIS) will be holding an informal networking breakfast event, Coffee and Croissant, at Byrom Street, LIVE Lab in the Peter Jost Building on Thursday 4th April from 8.15am – 9.30am.

2. PHI continues status as WHO Collaborating Centre for Violence Prevention

   World Health Organization (WHO) has confirmed that LJMU’s Public Health Institute (PHI) will continue to be recognised as a WHO Collaborating Centre for Violence Prevention.

3. LJMU scientist wins silver award in Parliament

   Dr Claire Burke, an Astro-ecologist at LJMU’s Astrophysics Research Institute, was awarded the silver prize for physical sciences in Parliament at STEM for BRITAIN.

4. Prestigious civil engineering title for Dr Ana Bras

   Dr Ana Bras has been named as a policy fellow within the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE), the UK’s leading source of expertise in civil engineering.

5. Professorship and Readership Conferment: Call for submissions

   Each year applications are invited for the conferment of Professorships and Readerships and the process for 2020 is now open.

6. UKRI open access policy changes from 1 January 2024

   The open access policy applies to monographs, book chapters and edited collections associated with UKRI funding published from 1 January 2024.

7. LJMU academic shaping solutions to tackle climate concerns across the construction industry

   Dr Ana Bras has been nominated as chair of an international committee looking to find solutions to climate challenges across the whole chain of construction.

8. Making Every Contact Count staff training: September to December

   Book onto the mental health and wellbeing training now.

9. New workplace milk initiative

   Staff can now order milk through Catering Services for their team to collect once a week.

10. LJMU Women Academic Progression Symposium

    LJMUs Womens Professorial Network in association with the Women Academics Network, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Team and Pro VC of Research and Enterprise Professor Keith George, are proud to present the opportunity for all women academics and professional service staff at LJMU, to participate in the Universitys first ever virtual Women Academic Progression Symposium.
