   The new Apprenticeships Policy has received Academic Board approval and 20 Student Governance policies, guidance and pro forma have recently been reviewed, and have received minor amendments.

4. January exams to be moved online

   We have made the decision to move all examinations scheduled from 4th January online

5. Massive stars sound warning they are about to go supernova

   In a new study, published in Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society, researchers have for the first time simulated how these massive stars seemingly fade away and disappear when they enter their pre-explosion phase.

6. Senior Lecturer wins Royal College of Nursing Award

   Senior Lecturer in Adult Nursing, Ebenezer Banahene, has won the North West award for Outstanding Contribution to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion from the Royal College of Nursing.

7. New EDI Workshops Announced – Domestic Abuse Awareness & ‘Actions Speak Louder’ Allyship Training 

   LJMU's Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) Team are proud to be working in partnership with a number of subject specialists, to deliver a range of interactive (online) staff development training opportunities, including the introduction of two brand new courses; a 2 hour Domestic Abuse Awareness Workshop and a 90min 'Actions Speak Louder' Experiential Allyship (Race) training session, as well as the return of LJMU's 3 hour Transgender Awareness Workshop (back by popular demand).

8. Peter's tweets unite global therapy community

   A lecturer who built links among therapists and counsellors on Twitter has been recognised for his efforts with a national award.

9. LJMU collaborates with Liverpool Law Society

   LJMU Law students are being offered career and networking opportunities from Liverpool Law Society (the society that represents all lawyers from the Liverpool City Region) due to a new collaboration between the two organisations.

10. International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD) - 3rd December 2019

    1981 was designated by the United Nations as the International Year of Disabled People and since then, 3rd December has been marked as the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. The day aims to promote a better understanding of disability issues with a focus on the rights of disabled people and the gains derived from their integration into every aspect of the political, social, economic and cultural life of our communities.
