1. LJMU Estates Roadmap to 2020 progresses with 4-6 Rodney Street

   LJMU is currently in the process of mapping around six major capital developments across the city centre, the majority to be completed by 2020.

6. LJMU signs up to the University Mental Health Charter

   Over 60 universities across the country have signed up to be part of the Student Minds’ University Mental Health Charter Framework to support universities across the UK in making mental health a university-wide priority.

7. EU Horizon 2020 funding to uncover the ‘dark side’ of the Universe

   We owe our very existence to dark matter. Galaxies as we know them, stars, planets, and people would not exist without its presence. Yet we still have very little understanding of its nature and origin

8. Education students gain experience and insight through placements in Thailand

   For the past eight years students from the LJMU BA Education and BA Early Childhood Studies programmes have had the opportunity to undertake international placements thanks to a partnership with Srinakharinwirot University in Bangkok, Thailand.

9. LJMU announced as Principal Sponsor of LightNight

   LJMU is this year’s Principal Sponsor of LightNight, Liverpool’s one-night arts and culture festival, which last year attracted over 50,000 visitors.

10. LJMU students help the global fight against pneumonia

    Over 300 undergraduate and postgraduate LJMU students have registered their interest in clinical trials at Liverpool School of Tropical Medicines Accelerator Research Clinic (ARC) with many LJMU students having already taken part in a study.
