As part of our LJMU Equality’s ‘Getting it Right’ campaign, the team is highlighting the importance of pronouncing the names of different students and staff right.
The project, which began 14 months ago, saw leaders from across LJMU’s ELT paired with Black and ethnic minority Liverpool city leaders to share their lived experiences and inform policy and decision making at the university and beyond.

LJMU is one of 15 teams to win the Collaborative Award for Teaching Excellence (CATE) and an LJMU academic has also been awarded one of 54 National Teaching Fellows (NTF). The announcement of Professor Weatherill’s appointment as Chair for an initial three-year term has been made following approval of the recommendation by the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Board of Directors.
