1. Complete the Student Lifestyle and Health Survey 2024

   Each year we run this survey, it only takes 10 minutes to complete and asks you a range of questions from how much sleep you get, to if you get anxious and how often you feel stressed.

2. Christine Eyene joins LJMU and jury of Turner Prize 2022

   The Liverpool School of Art and Design has welcomed a new lecturer to its ranks, art critic, historian, and curator Christine Eyene. As well as taking up a new post here at LJMU, she will also play an important role in deciding the winner of one of the best-known prizes for visual art, the Turner Prize 2022, as she has been selected to sit on this years jury.

3. Teaching and Learning Excellence award winners honoured at ceremony

   The winners of this year’s Teaching and Learning Excellence Awards 2023 (TLAs) received their awards at an event held in the Tithebarn Building.

4. The University Funded Diversity and Inclusion Scheme research initiatives announced

   After consideration of all applications to the University Funded Diversity and Inclusion Scheme, the projects to receive funding have been announced.

5. Ice Age bone samples reveal DNA links between wolves and dogs

   An international group of geneticists and archaeologists have analysed bones samples, some provided by LJMU, that reveal the ancestry of dogs can be traced to at least two populations of ancient wolves.

6. LJMU first university to be recognised with Cheshire and Merseyside Social Value Award

   The award celebrates LJMU as an ‘anchor institution’ with a university-wide effort contributing to impactful social value across the region.

7. Public Health Institute and Drama students create educational film on gang-related violence

   LJMU Drama students have joined forces with LJMUs Public Health Institute to create an educational film helping NHS staff deal with the consequences of gang-related violence in hospitals.

8. Updated Assessment and Feedback Policy

   The policy has been updated with two new areas of activity on internal moderation and the use of generative AI (GenAI) in assessment.

9. Enhancing the student experience through improved assessment and feedback guidance

   A project group has updated our Assessment and Feedback Policy as well as launched a new mini site of guidance for staff to utilise.

10. New and updated diversity and inclusion policies

    The Employment Committee has recently approved a new diversity and inclusion policy and guidance document, as well as amendments to an existing policy.
