1. Art and Design students travel the world

   The annual Susan Cotton and Sue Dunthorne Travel awards are open to undergraduate and postgraduate students in the school, designed to enhance students personal and career development through travel and impactful experiences. Successful applicants for the Susan Cotton Awards receive a budget of £1500 to spend on the trip of a life to their choice of destinations, while the Sue Dunthorne Travel Bursary is an award of £500 to travel anywhere in the UK or overseas.

3. Children’s Laureate delivers Roscoe Lecture

   The Roscoe Lecture, named ‘What do you think about when you think of nothing?’ entails the strange concept that meditating and clearing the mind often throws up a lot of questions- which is exactly what you are not meant to be doing

   Meet LJMU primate specialist and lecturer in Animal Behaviour, Dr Alex Piel. He talks about his research on chimpanzees and what they tell us about our own history.

7. Masters in Art and Design Degree Show: Class of 2020 show their enterprise

   Around 40 students will exhibit their ideas from MA courses in Fine Art, Graphic Art and Illustration, Art in Science, Fashion Innovation and Realisation and Exhibition Studies.

9. Critically Thinking About Race, Religion and Belief/Non Belief

   LJMU invited speakers from different backgrounds to discuss their views on the issues that are still apparent in today’s society. The conference, Critically Thinking About Race, Religion and Belief/Non Belief was presented to a packed lecture theatre of academics, students and professionals.

    We now have dedicated information on our student support webpages, for transgender and non-binary students, to find out how to get help and support while at university, as well as requesting a name change via LJMU.
