1. New support for staff development

   The university will shortly be introducing a new system to support you in recording and tracking performance and development conversations.

   The Secretariat has updated the request form to incorporate the additional stages of approval required from colleagues in finance and legal.

3. Pint of Science Festival comes to Liverpool

   Lecturers from across LJMU will be sharing their research as part of the Pint of Science Festival Programme this May.

4. Shakespeare in a nutshell

   Shakespeare; creative genius, wordsmith and innovator, was also a man of the people. His influence on the English language has stood the test of time, and lines such as ‘in a nutshell,’ ‘mum's the word,’ ‘eaten out of house and home,’ ‘all's well that ends well" and ‘a wild goose chase’ are just some of those in common, everyday usage.

5. Register to vote in the General Election

   Find out all you need to know to register to vote in the General Election on 12 December.

6. New workplace milk initiative

   Staff can now order milk through Catering Services for their team to collect once a week.

7. Journalism students report on General Election 2024

   Journalism students from Liverpool John Moores University have been reporting on the general election for ITV, BBC and Sky News.

8. In memorium: Gaynor Holmes

   The university is saddened to report the death of Gaynor Holmes who will be known to many staff for her long years of service in HR.

9. Students at the Heart Conference 2024: submissions now open

   Submissions are now open for the Students at the Heart Conference and the theme for 2024 will be ‘community.’

10. Bicentenary year gets underway
