1. Student opportunities with environmental project

   We have a great opportunity for LJMU students to develop your skills and experience by working on an online environment and climate project.

2. Research active staff urged to join focus groups

   Research active staff are being invited, by the LJMU Concordat Steering Group, to participate in a focus group on the research environment and culture at LJMU.

3. Broadcast Hub delivers interviews with Sky News and international broadcasters

   The Broadcast Hub is proving to be a useful tool for further raising the profile of the University, with Dr David Lowe conducting interviews with Sky News and broadcasters based in Istanbul and Dubai.

4. Move more and sit less to improve health and productivity

   Encouraging desk-based staff to move more and sit less at work can not only improve their health, but also their work performance, was the advice from the Research Institute for Sport and Exercise Sciences (RISES), at a forum for contact centre employees.

5. New and updated diversity and inclusion policies

   The Employment Committee has recently approved a new diversity and inclusion policy and guidance document, as well as amendments to an existing policy.

6. Annual survey of teaching space from 21 October

   The annual survey of teaching space will take place across the University over a two-week period, from Monday 21 October to Friday 1 November, 9am to 5pm.

7. Transgender Remembrance Day: Gender identity, trans-awareness and policing

   Our EDI team caught up with Christian Owens, founder of GenderSpace, to discuss gender identity, trans- awareness and policing for Transgender Day of Remembrance.

8. Technicians survey: your skills, your roles, your responsibilities

   We are working with the National Technician Development Centre (NTDC) to better understand our technical workforce.

9. Academic Registry Policy Update

   The Academic Board has recently approved an update to the Personal Circumstances Policy, as well as detailed supporting guidance for LJMU students and the Personal Circumstances Panel.

10. Technicians survey 2024 to remain open for a further fortnight

    The National Technician Development Centre (NTDC) Technicians Survey at LJMU is open for responses for a further two weeks until Friday 5 April.
