1. Disability History Month at LJMU

   Disability History Month begins today (16 November – 16 December) and our Disabled Staff Network, EDI team and JMSU will be hosting an event on Friday 2 December.

2. Sport science knowledge exchange with former PhD student

   LJMU’s School of Sport and Exercise Sciences recently welcomed former PhD student Dr Niels Feddersen on to campus for a research and knowledge exchange visit.

3. Students raise money for sick children by completing NSS

   Final year undergraduate students have raised over £5,000 in just two weeks for Claire House Children’s Hospice by completing the National Student Survey.

4. LJMU launches cost of living hub to support students

   LJMU has launched a new website hub to help support students through the rising costs of living, including help and advice, plus the financial support available from LJMU and JMSU and how to apply for it.

5. Free flu jab vouchers for staff

   As part of our commitment to employee wellbeing, we are offering vouchers for a free winter flu jab.

6. Board of Governors Election - Teaching Staff

   There is currently one vacancy on the Board of Governors for a member of Teaching staff for the period of office 21st April 2020 to 20th April 2023.

7. New financial wellbeing support for staff

   The university is introducing several new financial wellbeing measures to support staff during this challenging financial period.

8. diversity in maritime pledge

   LJMU has set out its commitment to promoting inclusivity in the maritime industry. The university has adopted the Diversity in Maritime Pledge

9. Applications open for Research England Policy Support Fund

   LJMU is being allocated funding from the Research England Policy Support Fund (PSF) to support the development of impactful research and engagement activities. Applications of up to £10,000 will be considered and applicants have until 5pm on Monday 10 October 2022 to make a submission.

10. New Teaching and Learning Academy policies

    Two new policies will support teaching staff in their development through peer exchange and direct observation.
