1. Merseyside Chief Constable's Lecture: Guns and Gangs

   Chief Constable of Merseyside Police Andy Cooke QPM delivered this year's Annual Chief Constable's Lecture titled ‘Guns and Gangs’.

2. Updated Assessment and Feedback Policy

   The policy has been updated with two new areas of activity on internal moderation and the use of generative AI (GenAI) in assessment.

3. Applications for Discovery Internships for level 5 and 6 students now open

   The final round of paid Discovery Internships for this academic year, which are all sustainability themed, are open for applications now from second and final year (level 5 and 6) students.

4. Enhancing the student experience through improved assessment and feedback guidance

   A project group has updated our Assessment and Feedback Policy as well as launched a new mini site of guidance for staff to utilise.

5. Changes to the Leadership and Development Foundation

   The Leadership and Development Foundation is undergoing some changes to better support all staff development across the whole of LJMU.

6. New and updated diversity and inclusion policies

   The Employment Committee has recently approved a new diversity and inclusion policy and guidance document, as well as amendments to an existing policy.

7. Health and Safety policy updates

   A number of Health and Safety policies have been amended and approved by the Health and Safety Committee.

8. Masters students show work at Art and Design degree show

   A weeklong celebration of work from graduating postgraduate students has opened at the School of Art and Design.

9. International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Lesphobia and Transphobia

   The Diversity and Inclusion Team reflects with Lucy Day, Impact Officer in Research and Innovation Services on May 17, IDAHOBIT.
