   All this month, we want to hear from you with your feedback and suggestions about studying at LJMU.

2. LJMU students help refugees at the Polish/Ukrainian border

   MA Wildlife Conservation students Vanessa Grundy, 27 and Alex Donnelly, 27 along with Vanessa's brother Mike Grundy are currently at the Poland-Ukraine border helping refugees get to safe accommodation in Krakow, and further across Europe, following Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

3. Start-up funding opportunity for new student businesses

   The LJMU Start-up Hub is excited to announce that the new Bathgate Boost award is now open! The £500 award is designed to support students who can demonstrate their business idea. Sitting alongside this funding is a package of support from the Start-up Hub team built around developing your start-up and skills as an entrepreneur. The award is open to all current LJMU students and new alumni who graduated from LJMU during 2023.

4. Going for Gold at Tokyo 2020

   Good luck to all our LJMU athletes and sport science staff as they go for medal glory in Japan.

5. Global partners visit LJMU

   LJMU welcomed partner organisations from across the world to the Students at the Heart conference.

6. Restrictions on using USBs

   From Monday 4 September, students will no longer be able to use USB storage devices on LJMU computers, laptops and other IT equipment.

7. International Scholarships awarded to 16 students

   16 students were presented with their international scholarships this week at a reception in the Student Life Building.

8. Fault reporting processes for the new academic year

   As the new academic year begins and our campus becomes busy once more, staff are reminded to ensure that all faults are reported via the respective Helpdesks.

9. IT drop-in sessions

   IT Services is running a series of drop-in classroom display and audio technology introduction/refresher sessions

10. Accolades for students at Graduate Fashion Week

    BA Fashion Design and Communication students have been making their mark in the fashion industry with their collections at Graduate Fashion Week. A fantastic number of students were shortlisted for prestigious awards and two won their categories.
