1. Partnership with ScreenSkills promotes High end TV careers to Merseyside pupils

   The university’s Liverpool Screen School (LSS) has delivered six roadshows to introduce year 10 pupils to the prospect of High-end TV (HETV) careers.

2. First day of 2015 graduation ceremonies

   Monday 13 July saw the first of the 2015 LJMU graduation ceremonies take place at Liverpool Cathedral

3. Christmas closure and support services over the festive break

   The university will close at 5pm on Thursday 23 December and reopen at 9am on Tuesday 4 January. The Student Life Building will be open 24/7 throughout the festive break including on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Day.

4. TRANSPEER in Lisbon

   The Portugal-leg of TRANSPEER, the international researcher development programme, has taken place in Lisbon.​​​​​​​

5. LJMU Vice-Chancellor to Chair 'Channel 4 to Liverpool Partnership'

6. Expressions of interest welcomed for Academic Board vacancies

   There are five vacancies available and eligible staff should send an expression of interest for the role to the Secretariat.

7. Girls feel strain of lockdown more - study

   A study of the impact of the pandemic on adolescents has found girls significantly more likely to suffer from lockdown stress and anxiety than boys.

8. New HEFCE funding to upskill Liverpool City Region’s engineering industry

   LJMU has been awarded a share of £6.1 million by the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE) to develop new and enhanced higher education courses.

9. Chief Constable delivers Spring Lecture at LJMU

   Chief Constable Craig Guildford of West Midlands Police delivered his spring lecture at LJMU last week. The lecture titled Turning the Tanker: Reflections on 18 Months as Chief Constable of West Midlands Police was held in the Redmonds Building and saw Chief Constable Guildford share his strategic initiatives, and thoughts on the importance of community engagement, and the future direction of the force.
