Zoe is passionate about people and celebrating diversity. Having witnessed the transformational power of education first-hand, through her mum’s own academic journey as a mature student, Zoe was herself encouraged to go to university and now works for Agent Academy helping people to gain real-world experience and make industry connections to secure amazing jobs.
Matteo could be described as LJMU’s very own Indiana Jones. A principal lecturer in forensic anthropology, he is a charismatic academic with an unconventional approach to scientific inquiry in both forensic cases and life’s mysteries, with a penchant for holy relics and intrigue for ancient rituals, legends and even a spot of magic.
Colette was a dedicated member of the catering team at LJMU for 42 years, having joined Liverpool Polytechnic in 1981. Sadly, in October 2023, just four months before her retirement, Colette passed away after being diagnosed with acute myeloid leukaemia just a few months earlier. She was a much-loved colleague, developing life-long friendships while working for the polytechnic and university. Colette also had, and continues to have, many family ties to LJMU.
A Professor of Astronomy Education and Engagement, Andy is a champion of explaining complex science under his directorship of the National Schools’ Observatory, ensuring access to the universe for all.
