1. Pointing disadvantaged youngsters towards careers in law

   LJMU once again proved its commitment to supporting young people from disadvantaged backgrounds thanks to the Law Factor.

2. Women in football celebrated at inaugural LJMU networking event

   On Wednesday 15 June, LJMU celebrated the work of women in football at the inaugural meeting of the Football Exchange Women's Network (FExWN). The event brought together network members, delegates and industry speakers to celebrate their contributions to the sport and to challenge the realms of what is considered possible.

3. LJMU receives Collaborative Award for Teaching Excellence and National Teaching Fellowship

   LJMU is one of 15 teams to win the Collaborative Award for Teaching Excellence (CATE) and an LJMU academic has also been awarded one of 54 National Teaching Fellows (NTF). Dr Philip Denton, Principal Lecturer at the School of Pharmacy and Biomolecular Sciences, is the recipient of the NTF and the paramedic team at LJMU’s Schools of Nursing and Allied Health received the CATE.

4. LJMU students help the global fight against pneumonia

   Over 300 undergraduate and postgraduate LJMU students have registered their interest in clinical trials at Liverpool School of Tropical Medicines Accelerator Research Clinic (ARC) with many LJMU students having already taken part in a study.

   LJMUs Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) Team, are pleased to offer LJMU/JMSU Staff, the opportunity to participate in a virtual Lets Talk About Dignity & Respect At Work (Bullying & Harassment) - Where Do You Draw The Line? Workshop.

6. Transgender Remembrance Day: Gender identity, trans-awareness and policing

   Our EDI team caught up with Christian Owens, founder of GenderSpace, to discuss gender identity, trans- awareness and policing for Transgender Day of Remembrance.

7. Our LJMU community celebrating Ramadan

   Ramadan begins on 2 April and our LJMU Equality team is sharing the support available for those celebrating plus their advice on how our LJMU community can help students and staff who may be fasting.

8. Celebrating Cultures Event 2022

   All staff and students are invited to LJMU's Celebrating Cultures Event on Wednesday 15 June as part of the Students at the Heart Conference.

9. Give out Wellbeing Journals to all your students in your Personal Tutor meetings

   Copies of the new 2022-23 Wellbeing Journal are now available for all students, and academic staff are being encouraged to hand them out at their first personal tutor meetings with students.

10. Professorship and Readership Conferment: Call for submissions

    Each year applications are invited for the conferment of Professorships and Readerships and the process for 2020 is now open.
