1. New ES1 form available for managers

   The Finance team has recently updated the ES1 form used to assess contractors against HMRCs off-payroll working rules (sometimes called IR35).

2. Let’s Talk About Race Equality (Debating White Privilege, Micro-Aggressions, Allyship & Active Bystanders)

   The 2020 Black Lives Matter movement, reignited conversations on the subject of race equality, across the globe - The need for positive culture change was at the forefront of those discussions. This workshop aims to equip participants with the knowledge, skills and confidence to address race equality at LJMU and understand the importance of ally-ship.

3. LJMU LGBTIQ+ History Month Events & Activities (2021) - Get Involved!

   RE: The LJMU Together (LGBTIQ+) Staff Network and EDI Team, invite YOU to participate in a series of activities and events to mark LGBT+ History Month 2021!

4. LJMU pledges to secure successful student futures at House of Commons

   22 universities, including Liverpool John Moores University and JMSU have pledged to develop a Student Futures Manifesto joint action between a university and its students to improve the student experience.

5. LJMU produced films to be shown at COP26 in Glasgow

   LJMU films of how fast rising sea levels impact island communities will be shown to delegates at Glasgow COP26 next week.

6. Training for managers/personal tutors on disabilities and long-term health conditions, including mental health

   The aim of the programme is to offer LJMU Managers, Programme Leaders and Personal Tutors further support and guidance, in relation to; operating more confidently and effectively, whilst developing themselves and their staff/students positively.

7. How to continue celebrating Black history beyond October

   LJMU School of Education Lecturer, Adam Vasco, is giving his thoughts on five ways to celebrate and commemorate Black history beyond October.
