1. LJMU to run UK's only degree on climate change

   LIVERPOOL has achieved a climate first by launching the UKs first degree in climate change studies.

2. £50,000 project to assess mental health value of 'great outdoors'

   A successful bid by a national research group led by LJMU looks to better strengthen the use outdoor natural environments as a mental health asset over the coming decade.

3. Reciprocal Mentoring Programme involving BAME Staff, Black Students and Senior Leaders

   Given the success of last year's pilot, we are running the LJMU Reciprocal Mentoring Programme again and we are extending it to include BAME staff from across the institution. The programme is open to all LJMU Senior Staff from Director Level of non BAME Background and to BAME staff from non-Director Level and to Black Students from all Faculties.

4. Melissa crowned Pulp Idol for teen pregnancy novel

   UP-and-coming novelist Melissa Grindon hailed LJMU's writing community after being crowned Pulp Idol by Liverpool literary organisation, Writing on the Wall.

   Liverpool John Moores University is set to train more people in diagnosing cancer thanks to a partnership with global optics firm Olympus.

8. Let’s Talk About Disability Workshop (Virtual) - Tips For Supporting Staff/Students With Disabilities & Long-Term Health Conditions Including Mental Health

   This is an opportunity for LJMU/JMSU Managers, Programme Leaders and Personal Tutors (those directly responsible for staff/students) to participate in a half day (three hour) virtual, Lets Talk About Disability Workshop in order to gain tips for supporting staff/students with disabilities & long-term health conditions including mental health.

9. Jeff's biography on shortlist for Costa Prize

   Senior Lecturer Jeff Young has been shortlisted for the 2020 Costa Biography Prize for his book Ghost Town, a Liverpool Shadowplay.

10. MA WRITING students offer short and powerful insights into life in Liverpool

    Liverpool 500 was part of the LJMU MA Writing program and has been shared with Liverpool in Australia a collaboration which forms part of LJMUs Liverpool 2 Liverpool project with University of Wollongongs Liverpool Campus in Sydney.
