1. ICC Head of Research invited to join AHRC Peer Review College 2020-23

   Following a competitive nomination process, LJMU's Kerry Wilson has been invited by the Arts and Humanities Research Council to join its academic Peer Review College.

2. Exciting development opportunity for women to undertake action learning with peers from North West universities

   We are pleased to offer this development opportunity for up to 15 women working in academic and professional services roles to take part in cross institutional action learning sets with peers from universities in the North West region. Action learning provides a unique space for women to support each other to overcome work and career related challenges. This opportunity has been taken up previously by 150 women. Participant feedback includes: it was not role specific, so there were a range of individuals with different roles/skills/perspective which enriched my experience and It provided a rare opportunity to discuss issues confidentially outside of ones own workplace which helped me to develop more self-confidence and self-awareness.

   LJMUs Womens Professorial Network in association with the Women Academics Network, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Team and Pro VC of Research and Enterprise Professor Keith George, are proud to present the opportunity for all women academics and professional service staff at LJMU, to participate in the Universitys first ever virtual Women Academic Progression Symposium.

5. LJMU produced films to be shown at COP26 in Glasgow

   LJMU films of how fast rising sea levels impact island communities will be shown to delegates at Glasgow COP26 next week.

6. LJMU partners with L8 community celebration

   On Saturday 25 June, staff and students from LJMU will join hundreds of people at Firefit Community Hub (115 Upper Warwick Street, L8 8HD) in Toxteth for a community fair and celebration of everyone and everything that makes L8 so unique.

   A GENETIC test developed at LJMU could have a dramatic effect on how the UK polices illegal fishing.

9. Lecturer's work featured in national showcase

   A project featuring a lecturer from LJMU will take centre stage next week (Monday 14 June Saturday 19 June) at the British Academys Summer Showcase.
